Statecraft asked why there is no board for Christianity here. He never got a stragiht answer other than Jinxx's reply to phone Matthew Fox (of LOST fame) to get ... errr .... to get an upright opinion, I think it was.
What about other forms of spirituality? Are they allowed? Surely voodoo practised as a legitimate religion in a number of areas deserves a board. In Brazil it is called "Candomblé" and in the English speaking Caribbean it is called “Obeah”. The Ewe people of southern Togo and southeastern Ghana -- two countries in West Africa -- are devout believers.
Voodoo is a corruption of the French phrase "vous deux", meaning you two, you too. In voodoo, the universe is all one and each thing affects something else. So, in essence, what you do unto another, you do unto you, because you ARE the other.
Unfortunately despite voodoo's noble status as one of the worlds oldest religions, it is popularly seen as barbaric, sexually licentious practice. This is due to another kind of corruption to the French term and its meaning in English. Voo (vous or you) doo (deux or two) has been transposed to read "do you". And who doesn't know what someone means when they say "I wanna do you." Hence the bad reputation.

But hope is not lost dear brothers and sisters. When these voodoo practitioners landed on American soil, as slaves long ago and migrants today, they converted to Christianity.
Oh yes hallelujah! They accepted and embraced the Bible, and brought to its teachings their own understanding in their own pidgin English version of the King James Version of the Bible. Glory be! I bring to you some exercpts and ask for your support for our new brothers and sisters in their new faith:
Praying
King James Version And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23-24)
Pidgin English version Cuz we Jesus guys: "Wen dat time come, you guys no goin aks me notting. Dass right! I tell you guys, wateva you guys aks my Fadda, he goin give um to you guys, cuz you my guys. Befo now, you guys neva aks fo notting cuz you my guys. Aks now, an you guys goin get um, so you guys can stay real good inside." (John 16:23-24)
King James Version Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it, (Matthew 7:13-14) Pidgin English version Jesus say, "Fo go inside God's place, go inside thru da skinny gate. Get one nodda gate dat stay wide an get plenny room. Dass da gate fo da road fo take you to Hell, an get plenny guys going dat way.
But da real gate stay skinny an da real road mo smalla. Dass da one fo bring you to God who goin make you live fo real kine, an ony litto bit guys goin pick dat road." (Matthew 7:13-14)

Hello Jinxxy and figi. Very happy to see you both. Have you two come for religious classes? By the way jinxxy, love your Jamaican accent but your moderator sure looks weird. :=)
Well, shall we continue with our Bible class?
King James version When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.(Matthew 25:30-31)
Pidgin English interpretation: Jesus tell um, “You know, I da Guy Who Fo Real. Wen I come back, I goin be awesome. All da angel guys goin come wit me. Den I goin sit down on top my throne dat stay awesome. (Matthew 25:30-31)
King James version Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthian 15:58)
Pidgin interpretation Hang In Dea: "So den, bruddas an sistas, my good friends. Stand strong an solid. No let notting shake you guys up. You guys stay working fo da Boss awready, so den, go do mo an mo plenny good kine stuffs fo him everytime. You guys know dis: Wen you guys stay tight wit da Boss, no matta you work hard an sweat plenny, no goin be waste time!" (1 Corinthians 15:58)
King James version Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. (James 3:13)
Pidgin interpretation You tink get somebody who smart an know wat fo do everytime? Kay den. Da guy betta do da right ting everytime, so he can show proof dat he get da smarts from God fo know wat fo do, an he no need be da numba one guy. (James 3:13)
King James version For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. (Romans 3:23-25)
Pidgin interpretation
Jesus take care our problems: Cuz everybody do bad kine stuff. Dass why nobody can come awesome by demself, da way God like make um come awesome. But can get um right wit God cuz God get good heart an like do plenny good stuff fo peopo. God cut um loose from da power da bad kine stuff get ova dem, cuz dey tight wit Jesus Christ. God wen make Jesus da main guy, so he can be da One fo throw out all da bad kine stuff everybody do, ony if dey go trus him an dey shua dat he wen go bleed an mahke fo dem. Dass how God show dat he make everyting come right: he hemo dea shame an let um go fo da bad kine stuff dey wen do befo time. (Rome 3:23-25)
King James version Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)
Pidgin interpretation Dass right! An I tell you guys dis: Whoeva hear wat I say, an trus God who wen send me, dey get da kine life dat stay to da max foeva. God no goin punish dem. Dey no stay mahke no moa. Dey stay live now fo real kine." (John 5:24)

lol! Don't you think I am in a big mess already, figi?
Unless of course de spirit is moving yo my sista, and whoeva am I fo to deny da light fo to shine on you? I must have de courage. The peopo got great gift from da Boss man. As it was said in de bible:
King James version And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)
Pidgin version But da angel guy say, “No scared. I come fo tell you guys Good Stuff From God dat goin make you guys an all da peopo stay good inside.
Dis day inside King David's town, one boy wen born dat goin take you guys outa da bad kine stuff you stay doing. He da Christ Guy, da Spesho Guy God Wen Send. He da Boss." (Luke 2:10-11)

King James version Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. (1 Corinthians 18-19) b]
Pidgin version No fool yoaself! If you tink you know an undastan everyting jalike all da peopo nowdays, dat mean, you donno notting. Wen you figga you donno notting, dass wen you goin start fo learn. Da way da peopo inside da world tink, God say dat stuff stay stupid. Da Bible say: “Da smart guys, dey sly buggas, But God take wat dey do an jam um up!” (1 Corinthians 3:18-19)
Dass right! We mus be humble in da noledge, and so I humbly submit da Boss man Prayer in pidgin:
God, you our Fadda. You stay inside da sky. We like all da peopo know fo shua how you stay, An dat you good an spesho inside, An we like dem give you plenny respeck. We like you come king ova hea now. We like everybody make jalike you like, Ova hea inside da world, Jalike da angel guys up inside da sky make jalike you like. Give us da food we need fo every day. Let us go, an hemo our shame Fo all da kine bad stuff we do to you, Jalike us guys let da odda guys go awready, An we no stay huhu wit dem Fo all da kine bad stuff dey do to us. No let us get chance fo do bad kine stuff, But take us outa dea, so da Bad Guy no can hurt us. Cuz you our king, You get da real power, An you stay awesome foeva. Dass it!" (Matthew 6:9-13)
King James version Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Imagine the people of other countries of the world reciting the verses and the Lord's prayer in their own tongue. Pidgin is nothing, at least it's understandable. You haven't heard strange until you hear the Bible in Burmese or Indonesian. There's even a project to translate the Bible into Klingon for Star Trek fans: klv.mrklingon.org/
